For 2025, the municipal tax payment due dates are April 1, June 1, August 1 and October 1.

When will I receive my tax bill?

Tax bills are usually sent out at the end of February.

What types of payment are accepted at Town Hall?

We accept cheques, debit card payments and cash. We do not accept Interac transfers or credit card payments.

My blue/brown/green bin is broken. How can I replace it?

To replace a broken bin, contact the municipal workshop at 819-242-8762 #3120. If you don’t have a bin, you can buy one at Town Hall.

Where can I take my construction waste?

You can take your construction waste to the ecocentre.

I have a new dog. Will I need a tag?

Yes, you must obtain a tag from the SPCA Laurentides-Labelle.

Where do I call to report a stray dog or cat?

You must report a stray pet to the SPCA Laurentides-Labelle.

I live on the shore of a waterway. Can I modify my lot? Can I mow my lawn all the way to the edge?

How do I know if my house is in a flood zone?

The Quebec government is introducing changes to its flood zone regulations. For information about your property, contact us.

When can I set up a temporary winter car shelter (Tempo)?

Temporary car shelters are authorized from October 1 to April 1. Only one shelter per property is allowed, and it must be placed on a parking lot.

When must I remove my temporary car shelter (Tempo) at the end of winter?

You must remove your temporary car shelter no later than April 1st.

Can I park a trailer on my property?

You can store an unoccupied trailer on your property. For other uses, please contact us.

What’s the schedule for emptying septic tanks?

We publish the schedule each March or April on our website and social media channels. Septic tank emptying begins in May.

Can I rent out my cottage or residence on a short-term basis?

Contact the urban planning department to determine whether your residence is in a zone allowing short-term rentals.

How can I get information on the size of my lot and its municipal assessment?

Is there a skating rink?

Our skating rink is in Parc Paul-Bougie, at 414 Rue Principale. When conditions are favourable, it’s open every day from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Is there a municipal hall I can rent for a private event?

What outdoor activities can I enjoy in the municipality?

There are many activities available in our region. The beach at Camping des chutes de la Rouge is accessible free of charge to our residents. A boat launching ramp that leads to the Ottawa River is available for recreational boaters. A number of businesses also offer rafting, canoeing and kayaking activities. Snowshoeing, hiking, hunting and fishing are also popular activities in our municipality.

Public Safety

In the event of a natural disaster, which emergency shelters are available?

In emergency situations, the municipality uses the Avoca and Campbell community centres. All information will be published on our website and Facebook page.

Am I allowed to light a campfire outside?

Campfires (or bonfires) are permitted under certain conditions. You will need to obtain a permit from the fire department.

What are the Town Hall opening hours?

Town Hall is open Monday to Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
