Land Use Planning

Our primary objective is to ensure sustainable and integrated land use and development of the territory of the municipality of Grenville-sur-la-Rouge. The role of the Town Planning Department consists of planning land use and development in accordance with the orientations and objectives defined in the Master Plan of Grenville-sur-la-Rouge and relevant laws and regulations.

The Town Planning Department, which includes development, inspections and the environment, plans and oversees the management of the territory while ensuring the harmonious development and enhancement of its natural and built environments. Decisions and actions are made in accordance with the principles of environmental protection and sustainable development, to ensure an adequate living environment for all residents (both permanent and seasonal) of the Municipality.

This department deals with town planning issues (architectural integration, urban renovation). It is also concerned with the application of municipal and zoning by-laws (permits, building inspections, complaints and nuisances) and environmental protection (septic tanks, aquatic environments, riparian zones, beaver dams, waste management, etc).
